I covered Elefest, a wildlife conservation festival last weekend. It’s the first of its kind in Zambia and about a thousand people showed. It was organized by Game Rangers International (GRI). GRI is a non-profit Zambian NGO working alongside the Zambia Wildlife Authority to protect wildlife. Below is a selection of photos from the festival and you will find all photos here.
This is from my second visit to the Lilayi Elephant Nursery which is situated in a 650 hectare Game Farm of Lilayi Lodge. The nursery is home to rescued elephant calves. Here’s from this weekends visit to Chobe National Park. The park, in northern Botswana, has one of the largest concentrations of game in Africa. By size, it is the third largest park in the country, after the Central Kalahari Game Reserve and the Gemsbok National Park, and is the most biologically diverse. It is also the country’s first national park.
